Thor vs. Ragnarök

My Kadam says

“don’t reduce it”
“you don't ever need to reduce it”

like it's some honey-eyed caliphate

last night I read of Ragnarök
Thor roid-raging like the Hulk

(they say he died there

on that strange garbage planet
where he is always champion1)

Ragnarök must be embraced
it is pure and forward motion

My Kadam says

“reality is manifest”

     says

“you only have to look”

like some wizened eager beaver

but sometimes I want to make things
sometimes problems make themselves

sucking on a Nicorette
a jacuzzi in the matrix

I cling to art against my better judgement:
bluffed my way through The Decalogue,

was left with a palpable sense of longing.

"when you see a road it is not a road"

meaning,

"the trembling, it is your practice"

My Kadam says

"panic is a river of poison"

that it is "in me but not of me"

I want to deal with these things efficiently
but I've come to realize they resist compartmentalization
that resistance to compartmentalization is perhaps their defining trait

soft drizzle like mercury pooling
the gas station smell of Mentos

"prepare yourself to die"

(the world is made of arrows)

"fear, it is but a figment"

My Kadam says

"Buddha spoke through surrogates
at massed vulture mountain"

and

"they were not vultures but
bodhisattvas in apparition"

(At a certain point, you have to drink the kool-aid)

Duality, it is the shape of things. Even Hungry Eyes2
carries with it so many meanings:

Baby was but a child. What a nose.
What hips!

My Kadam says

"rebirth is not a metaphor"

says

"it is the gateway to remembering"

My Kadam doesn’t need to question
my Kadam knows because he sees

reading an old Atlantic
in the acupuncture office
and imagining the rain

but I am not my Kadam
I am not the God of Thunder

[“the voice of the whale”]

Tonight I’ll watch The Exorcist
in denigration of the spawn4.

1Weeping like a drunken Valkyrie.

2From the wickedly successful Dirty Dancing soundtrack. The song's video was notable for its Brechtian breaking of the fourth wall - singer Eric Carmen opens the video seemingly masturbating to Super 8 footage of the 16-year-old "Baby" and Patrick Swayze3 erotically dancing while sitting in a recliner.

3"The wind whispers yellow, Patrick Swayze hears his name."

4Paid to diddle with a crucifix.
